Bio:
Michael Gruber comes directly from the original Broadway Company of Miss Saigon. He was also fortunate to have been the final Mike Costa in the Broadway production of A Chorus Line. He recently finished the Broadway workshop for the new musical version of My Favorite Year, which opens at Lincoln Center this fall. Other credits include Riff in both National and European companies of West Side Story; Joseph in Joseph...Dreamcoat at Alaska Light Opera and St Louis MUNY; Rocky in The Rocky Horror Show at Cincinnati's Hot Summer Nights Series. As composer/arranger, Mr. Gruber has worked with numberous pop and jazz vocalists including Billy Porter, Star Search male vocalist champion of 1992. Also, after a 2 1/2 year collaboration with Miss Jennifer Allen, he recently finished his first original musical play, Hypatia. Mr. Gruber was NCAA All-American springboard and platform diver, training two years at the University of Michigan under Olympic diving coach Dick Kimball. Mr. Gruber is a native of Cincinnati and an alumni of College-Conservitory of Music, Cincinnati, OH. He wishes to dedicate his performance to Ms. Adelaide Laurino and Mr. Bill Schuman...his guiding lights.
