This guy has all the stuff of which Broadway stars are made. He's handsome, has a beautiful singing voice, dances, and brings charming warmth to his role of a lovesick stowaway intent on getting back his true love, Hope Harcourt." Bio: MICHAEL GRUBER (Billy Crocker) Broadway credits include: Munkustrap in CATS, Mike in A CHORUS LINE, Hortensio in KISS ME, KATE, Tinman in THE WIZARD OF OZ (with Roseanne) and original companies of SWING!, MISS SAIGON and MY FAVORITE YEAR. Regional theater credits include: Don Lockwood in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, Young Ben in FOLLIES, Fingers in RED, HOT AND BLUE (Paper Mill Playhouse), Wizzer in FALSETTOS (Alliance Theatre, Atlanta), Jud in OKLAHOMA! (Arizona Theater Co.), Lucky in DAMES AT SEA (Goodspeed Opera House) and Cousin Kevin in TOMMY ('99 concert tour). Also, in collaboration with Jennifer Allen, Michael is the composer of three original musicals: HIT IT, MIKE!, THE OLD DEAD FIVE and VEGAS ORGANIC. ![]() Michael and Natalie Cortez (Hope) rehearsing. Yvonne Malch-photographer Vero Beach Press Journal: "Leading man Michael Gruber is perfectly cast as the smitten broker Billy Crocker, who pursues a young, out-of-his-league debutante. Gruber adopts the voice of a 1930s crooner that is well-suited for Porter's classic melodies. A triple threat, he also acts and dances his way through the part, elegantly executing a soft shoe routine while singing 'Easy to Love'."
